Question for you: What company is doing interesting work in the area of health care benefits analytics? Big Data is big in recruiting, but what about in benefits?

That's a rather broad area, Rick. Can you be a bit more specific about what kind of data you'd be looking for? EG, types of claims, speed of processing claims, average payments for office visits/procedures, etc? My first thought is that any of the large health care insurers would have whatever data you'd need. |

The annual Kaiser Family Foundation report came to mind. http://ehbs.kff.org/ "This annual survey of employers provides a detailed look at trends in employer-sponsored health coverage, including premiums, employee contributions, cost-sharing provisions, and other relevant information. The survey continues to document employer's implementation of health reform with question on the percent of firms with grandfathered health plans and enrollment of adult children due to the new health reform law. The 2012 survey included 3,326 randomly selected public and private firms with three or more employees (2,121 of which responded to the full survey and 1,205 of which responded to an additional question about offering coverage). Researchers at the Kaiser Family Foundation, NORC at the University of Chicago, and Health Research & Educational Trust designed and analyzed the survey." |

Maybe your broker or your health insurance provider can give you this information? I would start there or if you're interested in purchasing the analytics on an ongoing basis, Zywave sells a package. It's pricy though. |
