^I definitely agree. I have seen so many times on how a person (say a team leader) gets a few award because of the hard work that his team mates actually did. I sure do wish that that nomination for the award do exist in our company since with it, employees can select on who they know are actually doing the job.

We started tracking certain important metrics for our account managers and putting them on a large 'scoreboard' for everyone to see. Every month, we have a company lunch and present the winner. We get our prizes from asapawards.com and its usually like a plaque or a paperweight or something, it's usually very cheap and it motivates employees because they are acknowledged but also because it leverages peoples competitive nature.
