In Response to Re: Employee complaints:

My first reaction when I read this was "Sounds like an aweful organisation to work in" - would depend obviously on why the person left and what the grievances were about.  However, I would be looking very carefully at the culture of the organisation - why couldn't these issues be raised whilst the person was still in the organisation?  - Are the allegations actually true?  If there is some truth in them then there definately needs to be some work to address the issues raised - but above all why did the person not feel able to raise them whilst in the organisation?  I'd also want any emails coming in from that person stopped in terms of going to everyone.  Why don't you invite the person in - after you've worked out whether the allegations are true or not? Is there an exit strategy - why weren't these things picked up then?

Employees should be taken seriously specially if they are complaining about sexual harassment.

Daily Q&A

How to Address Flagging Motivation?

How do I increase motivation levels in the department? How do I brand my business unit as an attractive place to work? I have top-notch IT professionals in my business unit who feel they are "children of a lesser God" because they are non-billable resources and do not get plum postings abroad, nor the glamour that goes with them. As a result, their motivation suffers.
