A really good point, rrupert! The link to the forums is not very intuitive at all.

interesting. I actually didn't notice that networking link before. anyways, check out this link http://topsy.com/www.workforce.com/ people actually are including this website when they talk about something relevant to it using social media. but, for the last few days, the mentions are going low. check out http://www.semrush.com/search.php?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.workforce.com%2F to see what people are typing in search engines to get to this site. maybe some of those data and report can help you guys get some more discussions here. ping me a private message about it or reply here if you want to know more about it or ignore if you guys already know it. just learned about that sort of stuff with our digital marketers.

Jabo, some interesting sites. Thanks for the tips. Topsy.com seems like a good tool if we want to see who shares what and where. Anecdotally we're noticing a lot more organic searches bringing folks to the forums. And once you get here it's proven that you click around quite a bit. Now we need you to participate. Ask questions, respond to others, let us know what you think! Thanks for reading.

one thing that I find difficult with this forum is that I don't get that much update. I checked my settings and it is not there. what i mean to say is that I don't get any sort of email showing if there has been any reply to the thread I have posted an answer/question/reply to so whenever I get to this site, I have to check the posts one by one. if I can an email the instant that someone replies to a thread I'm subscribed in, that can make me interact more. please advise if there are notifications already or if there is an error in my settings.

By the way, those of you who are not receiving answers on the forum, or who simply wish for a one-on-one response from an HR expert, should feel free to submit the question to Dear Workforce. It's a twice-a-month newsletter and those who are registered users at workforce.com may submit their HR-related question(s) here: http://www.workforce.com/section/askdearworkforce

Any and all questions welcome. We try to respond directly to as many as we can. Dear Workforce and the forums are designed to work hand in hand, so please share the word. Thanks folks and let the discussions begin!

gkranz. I am sure your offer above is well intentioned but it is a bit of a smack to the experts who are on this forum. Folks can come here and get advice from a number of experts and they don't have to wait for a twice the month newsletter to read the answer. I would say it is rare that someone submitting a question here does not receive a response.

My first reaction was very similar to Howard's.  After thinking about it for a bit, it seems to me that Workforce has either decided to phase out these forums or Workforce lacks any clear strategy or management direction to continue them.

But regardless, I'm done.  Good luck!

I have read where the Legal Workplace site has been bought out and and will be closing it's reasonably active board.  I posted this board as a possible alternative, perhaps we'll get some new monikers in here.

Great idea IDA! Now if there were some meaningful questions for them to pontificate on that would make us all happier still.............

Hello to Howard7, Nork4 et al:
This is Garry Kranz, contributing editor at Workforce. I oversee Dear Workforce and would like to clarify my earlier post.
Regarding my invitation for readers to submit questions to Dear Workforce:

I apologize if it seemed to anyone that I was implying our
forum experts don't provide valuable or timely responses to other readers' posts. I am keenly aware of the value our longtime forum members contribute and appreciate the way you have made the message boards your own.
My invitation was intended to kindle greater interest in Dear Workforce and, more particularly, highlight topical HR issues we may wish to feature in it. It was aimed at readers who may need a lengthier response than is always possible on the message board.

Our Discussion Forums are a permanent and vital component of our online strategy to engage the HR community. They play a huge role in letting our community of some 480,000 registered members communicate with one another on all things Workforce.
