Any suggestions on how to monitor an employee's time without having to have her literally come to my desk and sign in and sign out. We have one hourly employee who is clearly exagerating on her timesheet. As Office Manager, I'm trying to handle this situation diplomatically as I really feel her supervisor (the company owner -- also my supervisor) should be dealing with this and I'm uncomfortable with playing the role of babysitter. Any cheap software or timetracking devices out there other than a time clock from Staples?

I'm not sure if it's in your budget, but we have been successfully using a Simplex product called WInstar for several years.

Daily Q&A
How to Address Flagging Motivation?
How do I increase motivation levels in the department? How do I brand my business unit as an attractive place to work? I have top-notch IT professionals in my business unit who feel they are "children of a lesser God" because they are non-billable resources and do not get plum postings abroad, nor the glamour that goes with them. As a result, their motivation suffers.
