The California Chamber of Commerce publishes each year a set of Labor Law Guides (booklet & CD rom) that contains this information from state and federal guidelines. You may also look into BLR as they publish a number of different guides. Check out the net, and check SHRM at www.shrm.org.
Contact information: BLR (Business & Legal Reports Inc.) 39 Academy St Madison, CT 06443-1513 California Chamber of Commerce 1-800-331-8877 There is also a company, I can't recall the name, that does publish books with all the states requirements. I used this at my last job. It also contained information on termination policies in each state (ie, payout, severance, vacation payout, etc.), insurance regulations and other issues. It was very comprehensive. I'd go to the internet first and conduct searches on other HR sites or try Amazon.com for their available books. |
