All of our secretaries have been retitled to Admin. Assistant. We changed the titles at their urging.

The title should fit the skill set and duties required to perform the job. An Executive Assistant supports a highly-placed, senior employee and has complex responsibilities. An Administrative Assistant is a generic term that may include any of several job categories from clerk, specialist, or receptionist to the traditional "secretary" who supports several middle-managers. The term "secretary" has been discontinued in most businesses because it is not descriptive of the various obligations and services performed by many administrative employees. Repricing (I assume you mean setting salary ranges) is also based on the level of responsibility and skills required. One title does not fit all.
