We are about to triple in size and the idea of continuing to use time cards is depressing. Does anyone use a PC based time system? I'm trying to avoid a time clock.

I've used a few. Tempo Systems, Time-Trak, and now Kronos. They work well, but you will need to do a lot of homework in setting up the system. Run redundant systems having your vendor set up a "dummy company" until you're sure you got the hang of it, before letting go of the time cards. Then erase the figures from the "dummy".

We have 24 regional based offices with clients in all 50 states, and strategically partnered with SIMPLEX T & A Systems in February for this very purpose. We chose Simplex as they had both a computer & plant floor card swipe system, as well as remote capabilities from either a PC or call in entry prompts off a cell phone. Our client base is so diverse (Hi-Tech down to light manufacturing) that we have to offer clients a larger flexibility to meet their needs, as we always customize our service platform to meet their demands.

Please e-mail or call me @ 720 941 3109 and let me know what city/state you are in. I will then work backwards with our Simplex contacts to determine whom should call you. Please let me know how you want this referral handled.

I was very pleased to read this message regarding your success with the Simplex Products. Simplex does have options for companies who do not want a traditional 'punch' clock. One option is PC Based reporting, and another option is a telephony based system. If you are interested in learning more, you can call me at 978-630-7111 or email at hallt@simplexnet.com.

When we moved from ADP to Ceridian earlier this year, we installed their companion product EAS. This is the only part of the Ceridian package that does work for us and if we migrate back to ADP, we're going to keep it. We have the program installed on a Windows NT server and all 19 sites log on to the server for PC "punches", editing and non-work pay code entries. It has been very easy to use and after some initial misgivings, I've enjoyed the extra time we have because supervisors are entering and editing time records instead of us. I wouldn't go back to time clocks or switch to any other program.

Hi:

There are a lot of good products available on the market that serve a variety of different employee types. Because of cultural expectations there are some employees that don't punch a clock (and don't "punch in" at a PC either!).

If you are looking to address these types of workers, you might find our PC-based product, called "Workforce Express" worth checking out. It was designed to meet the needs of office workers including both exception-based and hourly workers. It uses a Microsoft Outlook plug-in that collects relevant data off of the user's Outlook calendar and creates a timecard for the user to edit and then auto-route to their supervisor/manager for approval.

The simple workflow settings allow the Payroll Department to schedule auto-reminders (send via email or Outlook tasks) to all employees each payroll period, with a smart follow-up on late timecards, or late manager approvals.

Workforce Express also supports web and native Windows users as well (mix and match). For more information:

Or contact:

Good Luck!
