Has anyone experienced an office move? If so, what are some ways that you were able to keep the employee morale high. Did you have a party, have T-shirts made,etc... I would appreciate any suggetions

Pack everything, or get it ready, if your movers do the packing.
Schedule the move so it goes smoothly, from pickup point to destination quickly and on time. Unpack, or help the movers unpack. Get settled. And then party.
All your employees should be involved. If they're busy and the move doesn't drag on and on, low morale shouldn't be a problem.

I have gone through office moves several times. The key word is, Communication. Let your employees know what is going on. Keep them in the loop as far as schedule changes or amendments as they occur. Give them some freedom with their personal packing - the move with the lowest moral I ever did was the one where word came down from on high that each employee MUST work either Saturday or Sunday (after a Friday move) for no less than four hours to get their desks in order so that they could start fresh Monday morning. The best one was the one where, a month after we were settled, we threw a cocktail party for employees, spouses/significant others, vendors, clients, the works, after hours on the premises.

Our best was when employees had input into when and where-the worst was when you would come to the office and find that the move schedule was changed, so someone packed you, moved you, lost your stuff in the process, etc. Also as part of the best, employees divided into food teams-one group did breakfast, one did lunch, and one did snacks. Everyone threw in five bucks, but we had goodies for days. We had no cost awards for best packer, best unpacker, most organized, needs most help, best food consumer, etc., etc. We had an all staff meeting the following day to issue the awards and pat ourselves on the back.
