I am looking for ideas for an Employee Rewards Program in a new technology company of about 100 employees. I'm looking for something more inventive than employee of the month. We are looking to reward leadership and innovative thinking as well as committment to teamwork (hence the possibility of a "team" reward).

From all my research I have not been able to find anything. Help!

First of all, get an executive sponsor!!! Someone who is trusted and who can put the money where their mouth is.

STEP 1: Define purpose of Program
STEP 2: Define criteria (ensure it is Both transparent and measurable)
STEP 3: Determine Levels of rewards - individuals, teams, departments
STEP 4: Ask employees what types of rewards (monetary and non monetary) will motivate them
STEP 5: Pilot program
STEP 6: Evaluate, adapt and Roll out

Hey guys,

Employee rewards is a complicated fields where differences in personality as well as equity play a role. You need to know what every person values, and then create a reward scheme where everyone feels that they are getting rewarded in accordance to their efforts.

There's another thing; do you reward efforts, or results? Someone with luck can get the bonus while someone who's been working his ass off, nothing. That sucks!

On the whole, I would be very careful with employee reward schemes. They're expensive and have just as much chance as backfiring as creating more motivation.

There are other things you can do to get people motivated and your productivity rising. Two processes I personally identified are growth, and contribution. To explain them in detail would take me too long so you can check out more information about it here: http://www.yourcoach.be/en/employee-motivation-ebook/

You're dragging up a 9 1/2 year old post to spam your services?

That motivates me to make sure I never use them.

Yeah you're right. Sorry about that! I do think I have something meaningful to say about it though, and there are some pages on my site that deal with this issue.

Cheers
