Has anyone here taken the PHR certification exam? If so, can you recommend any PHR practice tests? Or where can I get some PHR practice questions?

One of the resources I used to pass the PHR exam was the PHR practice test from CertGear. What I really liked about their product were the detailed explanations that accompanied every question and answer. It really helped me understand the materials in greater detail.

I started with the SHRM Learning system to get a understanding of the concepts. And I took a PHR prep class at my local community college.

However, I did NOT pass on my first try. It's one thing to just read the materials, and another to have to answer detail specifics regarding an esoteric topic.

So on my second attempt, I took lots of PHR practice exams. This really forced me to understand the materials, and gave me a honest measurement as to whether I was ready.

I used the PHR mock exams from CertGear and the diagnostic exam from HRCI. Only after I passed bought of these practice tests did I take the actual PHR exam.

The bottom line is to take the PHR preparation very seriously, and don't be too over-confident. My advice would be to take lots of practice test and make sure you ace them before taking the real thing.

I know my local SHRM chapter often will have PHR prep classes and seminars. You might want to contact your local chapter and see what they offer.

Also another great resource for finding cheap PHR resources is to use ebay.

Often, people will re-sell their manuals at a dramatically reduced price, once they have passed their certification.
