Hi,
I'm a HR Generalist with 5 years of experience. I'm planning to take the PHR certification. What is the best way to prepare for the PHR certification? What are some good PHR study guides or PHR practice tests / mock exams? Are they any free PHR practice tests? And can someone compare and contrast the PHR v. SPHR? |

It's hard to generalize what is the best way to prepare for the PHR / SPHR certification. Some prefer to read PHR / SPHR study guides, while some prefer taking PHR/ SPHR classes, and others study by taking lots of PHR / SPHR practice tests.
For myself, I'd tried all three approaches. I bought the SHRM Learning System, and also went to PHR prep classes at my local community college. I also took lots of PHR practice exams. Esivia, I did pretty much the same as Ellen did. It's been a while back, but the SHRM Learning System came with a CD of trial test questions which I found helpful. I understand that the HRCI web site and several others that have popped up in the last few years offer trial test questions sets for a price.
As Ellen said, there are lots of ways to prepare for the exam. If there's an HR association in your area you might check to see if they have certification prep group or class. Good Luck |
