Hello, We are in the process of developing an Employee Retention program. We do not currently have one, and are a small company with 45 people. Can anyone provide a sample program that they have us

It has to be a holistic approach otherwise you are solving a problem by creating silo's.

Exit interviews are a waste of time. People don't burn bridges and will say they're leaving for more money, which is true but not the reason they started looking in the first place. People leave bad supervisors or managers, or companies with poor work environments. You already know where you have problems in these areas. Deal with them, visibly. Make commitments to your people and follow through with them. I helped a company drop its turnover rate from 35% to 12% in under a year following these steps. Everything else is just window dressing.

well Kim, through a series of exit interviews, post hire interviews, post on-boarding interviews and a complete six sigma analysis of the recruiting and retention process I lowered turnover in one company from above 155% to less than 28% in about a year.

All of those are valuable steps and necessary to the solution. Not knowing what to address, why and what it will do yet formulating a plan based upon promises to be nice, make changes and be fair is like running for President. You impress a lot of people with a lot of words but when it comes time to show results you probably don't have a lot going for you except you won the election.

Just my $0.02

To be social is very positive aspect in this age of materialism. Life is moving very fast and embedded with full luxuries. In this fast life mcp is too facilitating for your comfort and minimizing all tensions.
