Hi,
I need to create a new employee handbook. Does anyone know of any companies that offer this service or has anyone used the software to help you create an employee handbook? If so, can you please recommend any good software or companies that provide this service.

Thank you.

Your local SHRM chapter may have a vendor listing on its website. I'd check there first - getting someone local who's aware of state/local employment law would be a good thing to have.

Also check with your insurance brokers. Many have standard ones that could then be modified without rewriting a whole brand new document.

Another option is to look online at the public instituations (such as state owned colleges/universities and hospitals). Many times theirs are online and are good to modify from.

Then definitely have the modifications reviewed by an attorney familiar with both local, state and federal employment laws.

That's definitely NOT a shameful promotion. Actually I didn't know you did direct consulting and I've been on here with you for what? Close to 5? years?

something like that. I have been consulting for several years but would prefer a real position.

Howdy Nork.

I know that feeling! I really didn't like the having to sell myself part of consulting.

Way back when, in my consulting days, I worked for a consulting firm who had those who sold and those who did the actual work...Although we often approached current clients with other ideas for projects/needs.

There are times when I think it would be great to be a consultant on specific projects, but I think I would miss the day to day interactions of the actual business, outside of the HR/payroll aspects.
