Skee,
It's a shame the media portrays military folks as shouting drill sergeant types and the press leads us to believe they all have PTSD. The reality is they have been ingrained with principles such as integrity, ethics, personal responsibility and selflessness. In addition most have attended at least one leadership program. Many of their skills travel Acer to the private sector. They are also proven to be fast learners with a willingness to learn new things. It is a shame that more of these skills and traits aren't more widely understood by HR folks and others.
Thanks for your kind comments.

Daily Q&A
How to Address Flagging Motivation?
How do I increase motivation levels in the department? How do I brand my business unit as an attractive place to work? I have top-notch IT professionals in my business unit who feel they are "children of a lesser God" because they are non-billable resources and do not get plum postings abroad, nor the glamour that goes with them. As a result, their motivation suffers.
