I work for a small company...12 employees as Admin Officer. Obviously, its a situation where all employees wear all hats and i also handle human resources. I have succeeded in getting some policies in places and earning the trust of most people. However, some employees are problematic in that they are not open and honest in their communication with me primarily because my husband also works in the same concern. Maybe they feel i may discuss their stuff with my hubby. I may add, almost 90% of employees are on very good terms with my hub. However, when it comes to communicating their problems to me, they backoff. Any ideas on how i can win their trust?

Sounds like you don't need to "win their trust" if they are already confiding in your husband.

How do I increase motivation levels in the department? How do I brand my business unit as an attractive place to work?
