Director Misbehavior - Keep or Terminate?

This was interesting to see the outcome. I, too, worked for a similar style company, very large Fortune 500, thousands of employees, nationally and internationally. The Director of my division, who reported directly to the President, made very inappropriate comments and suggestions to several women in our department. The Director had over 25 years of service with the company and was very highly respected with regard to his business saavy (but not necessarily well-liked). One person came forward and others soon followed. An investigation (albeit short) ensued and he was very quickly terminated. Part of the reason was, our department (and the entire Division he handled) was the litigation department. Additionally, he appproached two attorneys and the daughter of one of the senior attorneys. They had no choice but to handle the situation swiftly because it was escalating out of control. |
