How many times have we wondered if we could just run away from work for a while, get rejuvenated and come back? Indeed, we love our work at HR. but there is a tipping point for all of us. Having to endure the same old routine of getting up, cooking, getting the kids ready for office, packing lunch for the husband, rushing to office through the maddening traffic…all these do take a toll on our minds and bodies.

Something other than the usual ‘escape routes’

Is it possible to think of something other than the usual weekends and holidays? Can we look at life away from the occasional visit to the spa or beauty parlor and look at ways to refresh our souls while at work itself? Does it have to always be that we have to necessarily take off work to feel reenergized?

Is it not something of an oxymoron that you continue to be in the thick of action at work, the very source of all your exhaustion and continue to experiment with rejuvenation? It is not, if we adapt a few simple strategies by which to look at professional life afresh.

Take stock!

The starting point for this reorientation in thinking is to look at work the way we look at the past. It is said that about the only thing we can change about the past is not the past which has already happened, but the way we look at it. Look at work and career the same way. We cannot get away from it. So, let us discover means by which we can change our outlook towards it.

This means having to accept work as inalienable from life. What we are seeking to find here is that streak of happiness and solace while at work, not when we are away from it.

To achieve this, we need to:

o   Learn important 'A' Principles for a life of success & significance

o   Assess current state of well-being

o   Gain ideas for improving relationships, managing stress and improving work-life balance

o   Discover techniques to apply to virtually any situation to make self-care achievable

By bringing about a change in the way we look at life and work, we can:

o   Make room for improvement in our work or home life

o   Learn to distribute our energy, both mental and physical, meaningfully between work and family, so that neither suffers at the cost of the other

o   Discover that “something” that is missing but are not quite sure what it is.

o   Start looking for happiness in all the things we do in the course of our daily lives, rather than think of it as something that has to be discovered only in some things or acts

I guess your goal is to post your blog writings on here in the hope that someone will respond them and move to reading your blog?

You posted on the other one that you wrote it from your one single perspective and this one seems to be written from that same perspective. You assume everyone has the same personal issues that you do.   Plus by the way this is written I assume you are also female and made lots of assumptions on females that are a bit degrading.

His profile says he is a male. Very condescending. He should be removed if this continues...........

Wow! If that was written by a male, it is very much stereo-typing women in a light that is not favorable!  Bad writing all around honestly.
