I am currently in the midst of planning our Awards of Excellence Program. I am conducting some research on promotional strategies that addresses issues on how we bring awareness of potential submissions for the awards nominations. I am conducting a bit of research addressing past issues of increasing nominations and recognizing a multitude of projects that are not always nominated. They have also tended to be overly inclusionary, where anyone who is even remotely linked to a project is recognized even if their contributions were very minimal or peripheral. That means staff see huge groups of people getting awards for a project, that some people contributed very little to. Also the lack of nominations for regional employees or our clients.Would you be able to provide some promotional strategies that you may have heard for garnering nominations and addressing these issues?

Daily Q&A

How to Address Flagging Motivation?

How do I increase motivation levels in the department? How do I brand my business unit as an attractive place to work? I have top-notch IT professionals in my business unit who feel they are "children of a lesser God" because they are non-billable resources and do not get plum postings abroad, nor the glamour that goes with them. As a result, their motivation suffers.
