I and two others moved to Birmingham to start a new company. In the beginning, we had a president and financial backer. During this time, I and another started putting all of the details together to build a complete customer tracking database. One that does not exist in this particular industry. There are many companies in this industry and this database would be sought after. The financial backer fired the president and took control. We continued to build the database, but our company was never allowed to grow. We would continually be told the database was in test phase and would be available in a few weeks. During this time, the financial backer brought in a couple employees from one of his other companies. In actuality, they were brought in to learn our model. After giving the final details for the database, we were told it was being finalized and then a couple weeks later, he closed this company completely. He has taken the database to his other company and plans on selling user accounts to the database.
When I first started, I did not sigh an intellectual thoughts/ideas agreement. I'm sure I have a case to sue for a portion ofbthe earnings but, since I am without a job, I am also without money. How can I find an attorney that would take a case like this without demanding a waiver?

You might want to contact a local legal aid society or similar referral program. Or you could search for attorneys online and send an outline of your case to them.
You state that you moved to Birmingham, so I'm assuming you're in Alabama. Employment laws in Alabama (and Georgia, Mississippi and Louisiana) have typically been weak to non-existant. You may only have limited courses of action, if any.
There may not be intellectual property rights protection for you. Typically, if you're being paid to produce a work product, that product is the property of the employer absent any agreement to the contrary.
