The "growth opportunity" is always good to use.
Just remember to be positive - don't disparage your current employer (as much as that employer might deserve it!).

In my earlier post, I was not suggesting that this person be converted to an IC. In fact, an employer who does that raises a red flag with IRS computers that are programmed to look for these things.
The point I was making is that the business owners retained somebody who may be unlicensed to do the work. That opens an entirely separate can of worms.
