Is it legal to ask a job applicant, who has disclosed the fact that she is getting married soon (April) how much time off she anticipates upon hiring?  We have an applicant that would be a great fit, but we need someone to be on the job activity for the first 30 days, without anticipating covering her new position.  The concern is that she may need weeks off for a honeymoon.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, it's legal.  I would phrase it in the context of whether or not she's available to work the next 30 days and simply leave out the marriage/honeymoon part.  And not everyone leaves the wedding reception immediately for the honeymoon - lots of people either don't do the honeymoon or they have it at some point in the future.

Thank you so much.  This makes a total difference in our hiring.  Hopefully she will be planning on a honeymoon in a few months, when spring actually happens.  Cool
