I got a resume today that indicated, "I am a work-alcoholic that is committed to do a thorough job." Think he meant work-a-holic?!!

No. I think he meant he drinks AFTER work.

That's better than drinking during work!

Does that mean if I'm a "weekend-alcoholic" I should or should not apply? Good one! Just curious - has anyone pointed out the blunder to the applicant? So here's the person with the best intentions (but obviously not the best grammar). I hope someone is honest enough to nip this in the bud and help him from relaying the same message to several other potential employers. Be kind, get this fellow on his way.

I like to keep a list of funny resume quotes...here is a statement I received on one resume. I do not smoke (I have not for the last 22 years) so do not take smokes brakesI do not drink so that I will not call-in sick because of hangover.

Did I already mention the one that had in large, bold letters across the top:

NICOLE'S SIZZLIN' RESUME

???

I am an administrative asst. for a small staffing agency. We receive hundreds of
resumes a month some from people who are responding directly to a job posting and others are just randomly sending it to us.
How long are we obligated to keep these
on file in the State of CA?

Thanks!

To Rhonna - I don't have the answer to your question, but I do have a suggestion - you'll get a quicker, better answer if you post it on the "Recruitment & Staffing" and "Legal" forums. Also, you should specify what state you're in.
