I got a resume today that indicated, "I am a work-alcoholic that is committed to do a thorough job."
Think he meant work-a-holic?!!

Before the age of on-line applications we received a resume, on periwinkle paper no less, addressed simply To whom it may concern (obviously a mass marketed resume). His list of accomplishments, as detailed in the cover letter, included excellent PUBIC relations. I dont recall reading the resume.

My favorite resume received was from a woman applying for an administrative assistant position. The resume was a half page in length and the cover letter 3 pages. The three pages went on and on about how she was learning new skills, and thus could learn what was needed in the job. She thanked "Carl" for helping her put her information together and without him she would not have had the opportunity to apply for the position. The paper was wrinkled and looked like it had been crumpled up and tossed, then dug back out. The print was faded and hard to read. There were so many misspellings and grammatical errors I quit counting. The kicker was the last line which indicated that "Carl" was her new computer. It was worth a laugh no doubt.

I had someone turn in an application to me that under every previous employer when it said reason for leaving was "GOT FIRED" written in pencil. I went ahead and interviewed him, simply to find out why he was fired. First was a burger joint, I asked why he was fired, he said "I got caught eating the cheese." NO LIE, then it was Wal-Mart. He was fired for riding in the carts and running into an older lady. The next was Sam's Club, and he was let go because they found out why he had been fired from the Wal-Mart which was directly next to the Sam's Club. I excused myself from the interview, and went into the bathroom and laughed so hard, I was crying.

This isn't a resume blunder, but one from an employee. On this employees medical benefits enrollment form, under "SEX" he put "Yes please"...Funny to a 16 year old? Sure...funny to HR Manager? Not that I would let anyone here know, but I did laugh a little bit...

I recently received a resume that listed the applicant's social security #, height, weight, eye color, marital status, and children's information. I wish there was a way to tell these people that this stuff should not go on a resume, because they don't have a clue.

I just got a resume where the fax cover sheet consisted of a detailed drawing with written statements like "If you should give me a chance you will not be sorry." Then on the resume the applicant kept using the word "clinics" instead of "clients." As in "Greets clinics." and "Patient/Courteous clinics."

Oh, I forgot to mention that she "Professionally as well as entergetically counter act as team player." I think maybe she meant "interacts"
