I would be very careful if I were starting a corporate mentoring program - I once worked for a company that started a mentoring program, with great excitement and fanfare, only to find that it was viewed as a dumping ground for problem employees. Needless to say, the program failed miserably, but not before all the problem employees got to spend a whole 'nother year! at the company without being dealt with.
