i am a fifty year old healthcare(respiratory therapy) professional and have recently completed my MBA degree. i have 12 years experience in maanagement and the rest of my experience is in direct patient care. i want to begin a HR career but don't quite know how to begin. should i be looking for an entry level job?
those that i have seen don't pay enough to meet my needs. i would welcome any advice or sugestions.

Keep in mind that companies don't offer salaries based on what a candidate "needs to live on." Salary offers are based on relevant education and experience.
Given your background I think your best bet would be to seek out a position as a recruiter for a hospital or other healthcare organization. Your clinical knowledge would be an asset when interviewing candidates for direct-care positions.

Consider joining your local HR professional organization (often SHRM has a local group). This will give you networking opportunities that can come in handy during your job search, not to mention the ability to speak with a number of people who may be able to coach you on making your transition. If the organization offers monthly luncheons you'll also have the opportunity to gain more insight on the ins and outs of the HR profession.
