I need to stress the importance of managers keeping health information private, even if the employee voluntarily disclosed the info. References and jokes have been made to doctor's appointments and sick days; I find these to be a breach of manager/employee confidentiality. Any tips or articles?

I suspect that the problem with the manager making the snide remarks about doctors appointments and sick days is that s/he doesn't know how to manage attendance appropriately, and/or s/he is frustrated if the absences of the employee in question is protected by the Family/Medical Leave Act.
