the tech recruiters shiuld undergo the basic skill understanding training before they analyze and shortlist cv's. We at vMoksha have tech recruiters who have undergone this basic trg.

So far there are a lot of views of this topic but I have not received an answer to my question. So I would like to rephrase it! Does anyone know where I can find a workshop or training program that offers "Critical Skills and Competency Training for HR Strategic Staffing Functions and Recruiter's? I recently completed "How to Interview & Hire the Right People". An interactive learning course on cd-rom published by Skillsoft which focuses on organizing the hiring process into four parts. Proper job order creation, resume screening, interviewing effectively, and quantification of results. It saves your last point to allow you to train in segments. I just scheduled time on days I was less busy.
Depending on your industry you can also join organizations that offer training and tech seminars at a discounted rate to members. The search firm I work for used to be a member of the NTSA, but is now currently with the ASA. Does that help?

Thanks for the reply, I was hoping that there would be some training available to help train recruiter's and generalist's to develop core compentencies in the areas of strategic partnering, analytical thinking, communication, talent management, strategic planning etc. In addition, develop the skills that link to each of these competencies. Most organization's are not linking the day to day HR recruiter activities to the business core competencies is what I'm finding. This type of program will help mentor and improve the career opportunities and performance for the HR recruiter and easily align their skills and competencies to the business objectives and core competencies.

Those are areas of personal growth. The best way to develop those traits is with experience and/or regular review and counseling. I can teach someone how to network and aggressively market themselves in theory, but it won't be useful without the motivation or experience of actually doing it. I recommend you hold weekly or monthly peer review sessions so your staff can discuss their recent experiences and make suggestions to each other. Wanting to impress others should also motivate them to succeed and become more aggressive.

I recently found a free handbook called Developing Critical Skills and Competencies for Strategic HR Recruiting Functions and Recruiters that is quite powerful!


I highly recommend that you read it, especially if you are a HR Recruiting Manager who wants to learn how to develop a "High Performing" recruiting team or Recruiter who wants to learn how to maximize their strategic recruiting skills, competencies and HR career growth potential.

One thing I meant to add: the BTNovations training was a 3-day on-site session, customized to our org.; included train-the-trainer sessions and certification process.

The last piece of training I forgot to mention was custom-designed and delivered by GSW Consultant (Toronto, canada). HR generalists and specialist(inc. recruiters) at my former firm received this training on delivering effective / strategic HR services to internal clients.
