Does anyone have any suggestions for companies to use for Pre-Employment Testing that you have successfully used?
We are looking for a basic math/reading comprehension for our non-exempt and some type of personality/motivating factors testing for our exempt level positions.
I’ve contacted Kenexa/ProveIt and Wonderlic.
Any other recommendations?

I've used Kenexa/ProveIt and i think they are great. I see no value in Wonderlic but maybe thats me.
I am guessing you have validated the need to test these skills?

One of the HR services had something last week about new regulations for pre-employment testing being proposed. Looks like there may be more scrutiny on this coming.

Hi:
First there are no proposed regulations or laws that apply exclusively to pre-employment testing. State and federal administrative agencies, as well as the courts, use the same criteria to evaluate testing as they do with any other hiring tools. See Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection Procedures.
Additionally, to determine whether a publisher's assessment is appropriate for your position, it should be based on a job analysis, as well as the publisher's validation evidence supporting the use of the assessment for positions with similar requirements, including other collateral evidence (e.g., invasiveness of questions, publisher's history, ADA issues).
I would recommend contacting the Association of Test Publishers (comprised of over 100 of the most reputable test publishers in North America and Europe) for recommendations regarding this matter. As an aside, I am General Counsel for Wonderlic, as well as the Association of Test Publishers.

Have you considered the whole person approach as recommended in the Dept of Labor report entitled "Testing and Assessment: an Employer's Guide to Good Practices"?

The Hiring Suite assessments include a basic math,spelling,vocabulary and problem solving test and the Personality Plus which measures 10 traits of personality.

I'm in a global role, based outside of the USA (in Germany) and have had first hand experience with both Cubiks (www.cubiks.com)and SHL or Saville & Holdsworth (www.shl.com) both have very robust norm group data and provide statistically solid reports. On balance Cubiks offer the better value for the $.

I have used Employee Selection & Development Inc. for several years and have been pleased with the selection assessment products they offer. They have a number of assessments that can be used in the hiring process as well as down the road as advancement becomes a consideration.
