As individuals are a little less willing to move with the status of the economy and housing markets, we are looking to create a more competitive and possibly tiered relocation policy. Does anyone have a policy and/or best practices they could share?

The higher level the position, the more we pay out:
Director/Regional Sales Manager/Area Manager Up to $25,000
Manager/District Sales Manager Up to $20,000
Supervisor/Professional Up to $10,000
Non-exempt Up to $5,000
There are more guidelines around relocation, for example, it must exceed 100 miles, the VP of the dept. must sign off and they are given days off (3) not counted against their PTO. There are more specifics and if you'd like to hear more details, let me know. Hope this helps!

Daily Q&A

How to Address Flagging Motivation?

How do I increase motivation levels in the department? How do I brand my business unit as an attractive place to work? I have top-notch IT professionals in my business unit who feel they are "children of a lesser God" because they are non-billable resources and do not get plum postings abroad, nor the glamour that goes with them. As a result, their motivation suffers.
