Electronic Application Processes and Employer Posting Requirements

Remember not so long ago when organizations experienced applicant traffic flow? We all (theoretically) complied with state/federal posting requirements for applicants.

Now we don't accept walk-in's/emailed/faxed/ resumes -- rather, 'please submit your information via our online candidate application system'.

Question: how are organizations complying with the posting requirements relating to applicants? (our employees have access to our postings in lunch rooms, work rooms, etc.)

Thanks.

Most organizations doing online recruiting use applicant tracking system (ATS) applications. Most, if not all, have self identification capabilities for race, gender, etc.

If you are a government contractor, you should certainly review OFCCP guidance on online recruiting

We implemented our first ATS last year, and we are OFCCP compliant.

You are correct - we don't accept walk ins, paper, etc....however, for those that do walk in, we have a kiosk where they can apply (similar to a Home Depot, Target, etc.).

In our branches that don't have a kiosk, we hand them a list of openings and ask them to apply online. If they don't have a home computer, we refer them to a local library or workforce development centers whom have been very helpful in getting those candidates to apply correctly.

Also, to apply, they must have an email address, and we refer them to a number of free services like yahoo or MSN.

Are you talking about required postings, such as FMLA, wage & hour, USERRA, etc?

We have an entirely on-line app process, but post the old fashioned way - where no one ever sees the required postings. I'm curious if anyone posts all required posting electronically (I've only seen the e-verify posters) and think it makes more sense. Possible to do or is the fed govt just a step behind?
