My name is Jill Fitzsimmons and I am currently a senior at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. I am working on my senior research project, studying employer perspectives on liberal arts graduates. I am gathering data through a brief survey to be analyzed as a part of the project. If you are in a hiring position for your place of employment, your anonymous participation in my survey would greatly aid in my research.

If you are not in a hiring position, but know people who are, please forward the link to them. I am trying to expand my survey population and gather as many responses as possible. Please follow the link below to the survey (or copy and paste it into your browser).

Please note that the "Welcome" page of the survey says that the survey will take 10-15 minutes to complete, but realistically it will only take about 5 minutes to finish.

Thanking you in advance,
Jill Fitzsimmons

I'm not sure what you mean by "hiring position" - if you mean that someone who recruits and screens potential new hires for his/her organization, then an HR website (like this one) is the right place for you to search for survey participants.

However, if you're looking for people who make hiring decisions, then please note that's not what us HR people do (unless we're hiring HR staff to work directly for us) - that's the responsibility of the managers using HR's assistance to find them qualified candidates. Few, if any, of these types will be members of this site.

Just an FYI.

I am in neither of the above described roles. Yet, how would you ever know if I ended up taking the survey and if by doing so, I ended up making all of your results quite meaningless?

hrbth, thanks for your response. I was referred to this site by someone who is in a hiring position and took the survey, so I thought this was the right kind of forum. However, as you describe, I am looking for people who actually make the hiring decisions to take the survey.

fredav, the very first page of my survey specifically details the criteria of the population of who I'm asking to take the survey. If someone doesn't meet the criteria, they are asked to exit the survey and/or ideally pass the link along to someone they may know who is in a hiring position.

Again, thanks for the responses. I'm not sure if there's a way to delete my posts(?) but I want to allow time for you to see my response as well.

Jill
