Other than the obvious of the company web site, how do you go about deciding where to list an available position? Just go straight to the big guys like monster and careerbuilder? Craigslist?

If you've decided to include job posting into your sourcing strategy (ideally to complement other methods), I'd suggest first identifying where your targets (candidates or networking leads) congregate and then posting or otherwise getting your message out. For example, use niche job boards, industry listservs, usergroups resources, appropriate twitter hash tags plus #jobs, etc.
