If the onboarding process is what takes two weeks and begins AFTER the cursory background and drug testing are done, I would say it's all a matter of streamlining your internal functions. Why exactly is it taking two weeks? If it something like IT creating a new user, what is the reason they give for the delay? I think you need to identify the weak link in the process and then find out what it would take for them to speed up their portion of the process, if indeed it can be done. I speak from experience when I say that sometimes people just don't think new hire onboarding is a priority, and they will sit on it just because they think they have something better to do.

jennisess - No, the 2 week time frame is from the day the offer is accepted through the start date and includes all processes including physical/drug screens, degree verifications and reference checks among other things.
