In Response to Trying to determine preferred agency/vendor list - IT Headhunters National &/or Regional: Personally, I think a combined approach of internal recruiters supplemented by some agencies on more difficult positions. I would chose several agencies that specialize in different areas of IT. A lot of times a boutique firm might be the way to go. For example, I work for a consulting firm and we specialize in a few niches. We know a lot about certain ERP and BI systems but are not strong in other areas, such as Network professionals. Could we recruit for them? Yes. However, we are best at our specialties and have a broad network of contacts with that have specific experience. We have more than just general IT knowledge. So, lets say you have PeopleSoft as your ERP system, find a couple of firms that specialize in PeopleSoft, because they understand it better than a general firm and are going to have more contacts. I would also talk to some people in IT and see if managers and/or directors have particular agencies that they've had good experiences with, what needs they have, and what has or hasn't worked in the past. |
