My company is considering a PFP system for our hourlies in the distribution center. Their tasks are repetitive (unloading, putting product away, selecting product from the racks, staging product, loading it on the trucks) in that material flows through the distribution about as quickly as it enters. I have a few questions - and no, I'm not in HR, I'm an Industrial Engineer. My wife IS in HR and has definite feelings on it, but would prefer not to let them influence how I assist my employer.
A) Yea or nay on the PFP? Why? What literature is available (online or hardcopy) to support your view? B) What methods is your company using to collect the data for time standards, regardless of whether or not you are using the PFP system? C) What incentives are you incorporating into your PFP system? ESOP? 401k contribution? Added hourly wages? You can email me directly at dwittma@mclaneco.com to get your message to me quicker. I appreciate the help! Derek |
