There are a number of software products in the market that provide workforce analytics. PeopleSoft, Evolve, Lawson, Novient, to name a few.

We actually completed a study last year for a client to review vendors that provided that functionality.

Feel free to contact me if you want more information.

Workforce analytics is a BIG topic!

All of the major ERP vendors have some kind of workforce analytics product. PeopleSoft has a product called Workforce Analytics that is part of their Enterprise Performance Management suite. SAP includes HR content in the Business Information Warehouse (BW) product suite. Lawson, Oracle, etc. also have products.

There are also a number of third party vendors. SAS Institute has a product called SAS Human Capital Management (used to be called HR Vision). Informatica has a product called Business Operations Analytics that includes HR content.

In short, it is becoming a large product space with lots of vendors that have competing product offerings. You need to understand what your business requirements are for HR/workforce analytics before jumping into these products. You also need to decide whether you are making a strategic commitment to an ERP vendor or whether you want to integrate best of breed solutions.

Contact me if you would like to discuss further.

You didn't specify company size, but NuView Systems offers MyHRIS Metrics for small to mid-size companies. This module looks at key user metrics, by department/role, and compares these against the company average and against industry averages. Common metrics include revenue per employee, employee satisfaction, turnover %, cost to hire, days to fill openings, etc. These metrics can provide some eye-opening results -- and help drive HR strategies.

Daily Q&A

How to Address Flagging Motivation?

How do I increase motivation levels in the department? How do I brand my business unit as an attractive place to work? I have top-notch IT professionals in my business unit who feel they are "children of a lesser God" because they are non-billable resources and do not get plum postings abroad, nor the glamour that goes with them. As a result, their motivation suffers.
