Looking at changing the way we do out time/attendance tracking at our manufacturing plants. We currently use a manual system in some and a chronos system in others. We want to move to some uniform. It needs to be able to export into ADP for payroll. Also looking for soemthing that we can apply rules to. Does anyone have any suggestions?

A system that we highly recommend is Unitime Time & Attendance.

Unitime allows you to track information based on a variety of standards/rules. Besides great software, they offer standard swipe clocks as well as biometric clocks. They even offer a web-based product. And their software can interface with a variety of HRIS software packages and services - including ADP.

You can learn more about it by visiting www.unitime.com

I believe you should look at SAP's Time Management Solution. It allows for automatic or manual recording of time data. There is automated evaluation of this data, which is then transferred to payroll.

For extra information you can visit www.sap.com or contact your nearest SAP division.

Try Present - available from www.exclusisoft.com . It is an easy to use and inexpensive visual system that will help you not only keep track of attendance, but will assist you with compliance with each individual's entitlements, and with planning staff vacations. It is flexible, allowing you to keep track of the absence leaves/categories you want and time banks (overtime...). Present can be used centrally, decentralized, or a combination of the two - as you see fit.

Check out HROffice at www.ascentis.com. It links with most payroll systems and can also be used for COBRA, web enrollment, and other HR functions. You can purchase just the pieces you want, and add on later if you want.

Anyone investigating time keeping systems might want to check out Trillium's Time & Attendance Symposium. It's really an intensive seminar with six vendors giving demos. It's a time saver and you can really grill the vendors - not the typical, rah-rah' of other such events. Http://www.trillium-services.com/Seminars/

ADP has a product called "E-Time" for time and attendance tracking. We've been using it for about a year now & it is very easy and has saved us hundreds of dollars simply due to increased accuracy of hours reporting.

I would look to ADP. They have a variety of solutions based upon your needs. The intregration with payroll means that you will not have to maintain multiple databases. Keep in mind that ADP is not the cheapest but they are the leader in the industry
