Discuss how to choose system that will yield the best results, as well as how to maintain it, and how to calculate its return on investment.
We are currently pursuing the idea of a cost-effective, one-stop solution, for all HR needs, preferably all web-based. Currently have about 500 employees, and projected to be at 600 by year-end. Obvio

We are currently pursuing the idea of a cost-effective, one-stop solution, for all HR needs, preferably all web-based. Currently have about 500 employees, and projected to be at 600 by year-end. Obviously, cost is a main concern, as we are not the large 1000 + employee firm.

Current systems in place: ADP HR/Perspective and ESS for our HRIS system, Pure Safety for On-line training and Performance Impact for On-line Performance Appraisals. We are currently looking at systems for On-line benefits, and well as possibly On-line applicant tracking.

If you can recommend a cost-effective one-stop solution for all HR needs, that you have experience using (not just from the vendor side), for a mid- size employer, let me know. On the same note, if there are some that you would recommend steering away from, let me know as well. kimberli.malecha@midwestwireless.com.

I think you should look at a couple of issues also: 1) is your core payroll and HR system up to the task of full integration. I would imagine a service bureau is not the answer. 2) Really hone in on the issue of platform. If you've already got Microsoft, MS SQL, etc., you should probably stick with it if possible because more HR technologies will run on it. 3) Normalize your platforms. In otherwords, do all these platforms run on the same OS? If not, it might be difficult, if not expensive, to deploy all the HR technology you need. Good luck! Cheryl

Have you looked at ADP's HRB solution? It is web based and does all of the things you listed. It is what we upgraded to from their HR eXpert product. Wht switch vendors? It itegrates with their payroll.

Daily Q&A

How to Address Flagging Motivation?

How do I increase motivation levels in the department? How do I brand my business unit as an attractive place to work? I have top-notch IT professionals in my business unit who feel they are "children of a lesser God" because they are non-billable resources and do not get plum postings abroad, nor the glamour that goes with them. As a result, their motivation suffers.
