Hello,

I’m looking for time-tracking software to evaluate and improve my productivity. I wish it would be role-oriented. For instance, most products suggest specifying projects or tasks I was working for. I think that better approach is “roles”, when you can specify the role you are playing now.

Any suggestion?

Thank you,
Peter

I am looking for a time tracking software for myself too. Trying out these ones:
WorkTime Tracking (http://www.work-time-tracking.com)
CompeteTimeTracking (http://www.compete-time-tracking.com/)
Does anyone can reccomend anything else? What about these two?

Hello Peter,

I would certainly recommend TimesheetPlus software for your needs! This web-based solution allows you to allocate time to user-definable cost centers..

If you want to track time based on "roles", the software is highly configurable and enables you to do so.

BJ1977, you may also want to consider TimesheetPlus too.

Feel free to e-mail me at MNelson@datamaticsinc.com for more info!

Thanks.

Marc

Hi, Though your post is bit old, but this is for the record and new visitors. Try http://www.HubStaff.com. Its pretty good, the Software works like ODesk but actually has a separate vitual environmnet plus you don't have to pay 10% as on ODesk, just a fixed fee. They also have a free package.

Because you mentioned you want the software to be role-oriented, does that mean you are using the software for a team?

If that's the case, then you might try a tracking software that is collaborative in nature, something that allows you to manage and overview the hours worked and computer activities of your team.

When somebody is managing the team's progress that is as good as defining each one's role.
