Begin with some simply metrics in each functional HR area, and then progress to more complex ones. For starters, consider cost per hire, time to fill, average tenure, turnover rate, revenue per employee, absentee rate, benefit $/emp, training $/emp, emp satisfaction, average workhours, # of applicants, # of interviews per week, etc. - these will all be good barometers of corporate health to put on a dashboard - by the role of the individual. |

If your company has a large number of baby boomers, you might consider monitoring the percentage of retirement eligible employees as a measure of workforce volatility. A higher percentage of retirement eligible employees creates conditions that increase the likelihood for a sudden mass exodus. |

What do you want to measure?
What is the business purpose of the dashboard? Creating work for work sake is interesting but our role is to add value. This means using tools like dashboards to inform the organization of key performance areas. Mike |
