A former employer of mine used a biometric hand-scan type time clock which worked fairly well but was finicky about the position of the hand, rings and such. I believe it was a Novatime product. Of course the advantage is that it eliminates buddy-punching . |

I would recommend the HandPunch because it is biometric technology that takes over 70 pictures of the hand, which makes it the most effective way of eliminating buddy punching. The HandPunch automatically takes a three-dimensional reading of the hand and verifies the users identity in less than one second.

well now there are two different opinions, both with very good points. to add my two cents i was wondering what the cost difference is between the two and/or what other expenses would be incurred, ie... training/installation, etc...

Hand scan time clocks seem marketable but not as practical. There is no fear of buddy punching with a quality biometric fingerprint scanner, so the fingertec time recorders range from www.bundyspecialists.com.au would be my recommendation. BRS have also put out some new units which utilise radio frequency biometric technology for added security. |
