Hello, I am looking for Time Card Software for purchase that is software for a time card only. I do not need payroll software as we already have that. Our payroll company has a program that you can use that can be done in the manner that I would like to find but it is by monthly fee versus a one-time purchase.

I need time card software that is to be put on computers at several different locations and then have the ability for the employee to fill it out and then have it forwarded to their supervisor for their approval, then to our district manager for their approval and then have it forward to payroll for me to take the hours and input them into our payroll system.

The only software that I have been able to locate online has more than the time card feature, which makes it very costly.

Doing just an Excel spreadsheet doesn’t allow for employee signature and manager approvals.

Does anyone have any recommendations for time card software?

I implemented the first time and attendance system a company had ever had about 4 years ago. I believe the vendor for the hardware recommended Attendance Enterprise. It interfaced well with the hardware we were using and with our payroll system (ADP).

The one drawback was that it was designed to be very flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of different companies, which made it complicated to use and maintain (IMHO). I remember going through layers of stuff we didnt use to get to some basic functions. I have to concede that if I had actually needed the extra functionality this system offered I would probably have been more understanding. They have probably changed it a dozen times since then anyway.

Hello Faithfully,

I would recommend the time and attendance software of Datamatics. Their TC-1 enterprise solution is one that you can host at your location and has all of the capabilities that youre seeking and costs between $20 and $40 per employee for a one-time license fee.

While you dont sound interested in a monthly subscription, keep in mind that they also a web-based solution called TimesheetPlus that you can host on their servers for only $3 or $4 per employee per month that also can easily handle all of the features and functionality that you are looking for.

Feel free to e-mail me for more info!

Daily Q&A

How to Address Flagging Motivation?

How do I increase motivation levels in the department? How do I brand my business unit as an attractive place to work? I have top-notch IT professionals in my business unit who feel they are "children of a lesser God" because they are non-billable resources and do not get plum postings abroad, nor the glamour that goes with them. As a result, their motivation suffers.
