We are completly overhauling our performance review system and in the process of assessing the competencies required for each position, job descriptions, interview questions, you name it. I am hoping to implement a robust scale which differentiate average from strong performers. There is a rating scale that I can't rememer the name of right now...instead of 1-2-3-4-5 it uses more of a spread like 1-2-5-8-11. Can anyone remember what this is called? Have you used it in your organization and how is it working out?

How to Address Flagging Motivation?
How do I increase motivation levels in the department? How do I brand my business unit as an attractive place to work? I have top-notch IT professionals in my business unit who feel they are "children of a lesser God" because they are non-billable resources and do not get plum postings abroad, nor the glamour that goes with them. As a result, their motivation suffers.
