As a person hiring college students, frequently MIS and CS majors, I need a motivational tool. We have available CBT's including MCSE training. I need to motivate our students to involve themselves in these CBT's and think that if I could indicate to them a possible value added at the time of their graduation...that might do the trick.

So, if you are looking at hiring a college MIS graduate, and you have multiple candidates with 4 years actual work experience on computers, consultation and repairs, but you have one that on top of the above credentials
holds MCSE certification...what would the additional worth of the last individual be?

Daily Q&A

How to Address Flagging Motivation?

How do I increase motivation levels in the department? How do I brand my business unit as an attractive place to work? I have top-notch IT professionals in my business unit who feel they are "children of a lesser God" because they are non-billable resources and do not get plum postings abroad, nor the glamour that goes with them. As a result, their motivation suffers.
