Could you be more specific - exactly what are you looking for and who is your audience?

In addition to who for... what about the culture of the organization.

I came across this today and thought it captured a good model of what leadership development looks like. It's from the Yale Web site on their MBA education program. It progresses from basic knowledge, the different disciplnes that inform the negotiation process with a diverse body of stakeholders, which in turn prepares the budding leader to deal with the complex management cases. But don't ask what the curriculum looks like...

Stanawyd and Deltac asked good questions, probably from experience with orgs who *thought* they wanted leadership development, but ..... weren't really prepared for what that might mean to them. Such as willingness to take risks, for just one example.

I think sometimes an organization *believes* it wants "leadership development," when in fact, what it really wants to do is solve a problem it perceives that staff have. One way to suss this out is to listen to why execs say they want the leadership training.

Don't know if you have input into the decision-making or if you simply have an assignment to compile a list of leadership curricula for others to review.

I understand, your comment still holds, if you look at the model, it's no easy task to design a leadership development program - most organizations would shy away from it or do a half-baked job.

But I think the best programs are linked to business needs and succession planning so if there are problems with leadership or impending shortages, leadership development should merit some attention. It can also be a good recruitment and retention tool.

Since this thread was started I have been working on compiling a number of management models that we use in development and coaching. I have identified over 100.

They are available to view and download:

If I have missed your favorite model please let me know.
