There is a very good customer service training DVD called "It's a Dog's World." A little expensive, but well worth it. It is geared toward medical offices, but check it out.

Also try "Give 'em a Pickle"
Very funny, to the point, and viewers have good retention of the concepts afterwards.

Two great training videos we use are "Give em the Pickle" and the FISH! Philosophy. Both can be found at CRM Learning and are great ready to use programs.

give em the pickle is a good one, but if you have customer service trainings yearly it gets old. We only show it in orientation. There is a follow up video that goes with give em the pickle, called, what's your pickle. Right now, I am just trying to go back to basics and create workshops. What is it that they deal with day in and day out. What can they do to problem solve, and then turn it into a game. Jeopardy, spin the wheel, something that energizes. Our service is face to face so smiling is very important. I have a smile powerpoint of goofy pictures to help them as to what to think of to make themselves smile naturally.

Online activities were all kinda not worth using, at least what I could find. Like i said, go back to what your people deal with on a daily basis, create something out of that.

You can find some free resources and exercises relevant to customer service skills and client management on www.skillsconverged.com. You can also check out the new customer service course on there which has been getting great reviews so far.
Good luck

Daily Q&A

How to Address Flagging Motivation?

How do I increase motivation levels in the department? How do I brand my business unit as an attractive place to work? I have top-notch IT professionals in my business unit who feel they are "children of a lesser God" because they are non-billable resources and do not get plum postings abroad, nor the glamour that goes with them. As a result, their motivation suffers.
