In response to The Buzz: News Poll, “Best Way to Boost the Economy?,” the question placed before the reader was,

If lawmakers in Washington, D.C., could do only one thing to help the economy, what would you recommend?

There were 11 responses for the reader to select from. Of the 11 responses I found the last one, “Lawmakers should do something other than the above” as the only logical choice. The remaining 10 have already been tried with little success. Now that we are at war, war that thing that eats every tax dollar that is available; we should start streamlining our governmental expenditures.

o Like removing people that are taking advantage of our social programs that don’t have a need for them. Instead provide them a training program, say in the Army or Marines.
o Remove criminals from our prisons and provide them with a training program. Hardened criminals, exposure training to biological and chemical at the training and testing facilities. Lesser criminals, training program in the Army or Marines.

In today’s business environment we teach teamwork, productivity and a desire to do and produce our best. In our social environment we teach noncompliance, good enough and me first before every thing, even our country. Until our social world catches up with our business world, we in the business world will be drug down by our social inadequacies.
