To Brent Longnecker,

I am not the type that usually writes in, but a letter from Ms. Jane Wytzka of Career Transition Coaching, Performance Improvement and Training in Atlantic Beach, Florida made an incredibly racist comment.

"I thoughtfully urge you to consider avoiding the term discrimination. It is inflammatory and dilutes the true meaning. It almost makes you sound like an AWM--angry white male—which I am sure you are not." Jane Wytzka, MA, MBA Career Transition Coaching, Performance Improvement and Training Atlantic Beach, FL

I am unsure what your race has to do with writing this article. The article did not mention race, discuss a discriminating practice between races by companies or anything that could remotely be construed as racist. So I must deduct that she made the racist comment based on your picture that accompanied the article.

It leaves me to wonder if Ms. Wytzka would have the courage to have written the same comment if you were Asian, Hispanic, Black, or any other non-white person. Let's try it on for size, "It almost makes you sound like an ABM-- angry black male I am sure you are not." I will leap to a conclusion Ms. Wytzka would not have had the courage to make such a statement because it would have 'sounded' racist. And I suspect she is not one.

Fortunately, my company is much like yours and values and encourages ALL employees to live balanced lives and cherish the families they have. But I applaud your raising such an issue as there are gaps in such policies in lots of organizations throughout this great land of ours.

God Bless America.
