We're a small company (20 ees), and so our communication tends to be a little more informal. We either typically send group-wide interoffice e-mails or address things in weekly staff meetings (sometimes followed up by a reminder e-mail). We do utilize memos, but really more for the purpose of having something in writing for documentation purposes.

Working for a large int'l corporation, I see communication by way of intranet, quarterly newsletter, "to all employees" e-mails, letters via mail.

News at the branch level is communicated generally via broadcast voice mail. E-mail is also used, as well as regular staff meetings. Corporate has since restricted us from doing our own branch newsletter (bummer)!
